29th Sakura Tulip Festa in Chiba Opens April 1st!

Sakura City, Chiba — Sakura Furusato Square has announced the official dates for the 29th Sakura Tulip Festa. From April 1st to 23rd, guests can enjoy viewing 600,000 multicolored tulips of  70 kinds. This year’s theme is “scented tulips,” including rare species that flora enthusiasts definitely should not miss! Events and activities include traditional Dutch clothing rental, tulip picking, the Windmill Festival and more. 
Events & Activities
Traditional Dutch Clothing Rental
Available daily from April 1st to 23rd, in adult and children’s sizes for both men and women. Wear the costumes and take lovely pictures with the tulips and the windmill as background. (JPY1,000/45 minutes; not available in poor weather conditions)
Tulip Picking
A section of the field will be available for tulip picking where guests can freely pick tulips of their choice. (JPY 500/10 tulips)
*The field can be muddy at times. Please wear appropriate shoes.
Dutch Street Organ Performance
A small organ that automatically plays music when you spin the handle will be available on weekends at these times: 10:00, 11:00, 14:00, and 15:00 onwards.
Sightseeing Boat Ride
Enjoy a 40-minute boat tour of Inbanuma.

Times: 10:00/10:30/11:00/11:30/13:00/13:30/14:00/14:30/15:00/15:30
Fees: Adult – JPY 1,000; Child – JPY 500

Local Goods Bazaar
Grab the opportunity to buy Sakura City goodies including groundnut, miso, steamed yeast bun and alcohol. Available from April 8 (Sat) to 16 (Sun).

Windmill Festival
Browse and purchase Dutch as well as Dutch-inspired goods, try on Dutch clogs, and see a panel exhibit of windmills. Available on April 15 (Sat) and 16 (Sun) from 10:00-15:00.
Meet Kamuro-chan!
Meet and greet Sakura city’s own mascot, Kamur0-chan! Kamuro-chan will join the festival on  April 8, from 11:00 to 11:30 and from 13:30 – 14:00.
