My pandemic experience has been marked by two big losses—one related to work, and one related to family. I talk about the changes I am coping with in the video below.
While a lot of things have not been easy, time spent in isolation has also allowed me to focus more on growing the blog, YouTube channel and Facebook page. Not having a service to do marketing for has actually allowed me to use my marketing skills for my own purposes.
I have always had found continuity difficult because pairing blogging and video-making with a full-time job that has very similar responsibilities can take quite a toll. Add to that my incessant need for traveling. I usually end up with a lot of materials from my travels, but with very little energy to actually make something out of them.
These days, I am glad to say that I am balancing things a bit better. There’s still a lot I need to polish to consistently publish quality content. (the sound quality of the above video for one; new lens = farther distance from the camera = shotgun mic not picking up the sound) Instead of being frustrated with the slow growth, however, I am learning to enjoy the process.
How about you? How has your pandemic experience been?
