Immersive Fort Tokyo: Everything You Need to Know for an Unforgettable Visit

Imagine being part of a story where not only do you get to witness the plot unfold but also participate in a non-intrusive way. You can interact with characters and find clues, assist them in getting the bad guys, run away and hide with them, or be one of the captives. That’s Immersive Fort Tokyo for you, Japan’s recently-opened indoor theme park with an interactive twist.

What is Immersive Fort Tokyo?

Immersive Fort Tokyo is a groundbreaking theme park that redefines the traditional amusement park experience. Located in the vibrant Odaiba district of Tokyo, this indoor park offers visitors a unique opportunity to step into immersive worlds inspired by popular movies, anime, and games. Unlike typical theme parks where visitors are mere observers, Immersive Fort Tokyo transforms you into the protagonist of your own adventure, blending cutting-edge technology with live performances to create a captivating, interactive experience.

Why Visit Immersive Fort Tokyo?

Immersive Fort Tokyo is not just another theme park; it’s an all-weather indoor paradise spanning approximately 30,000 square meters. Here’s why you should add it to your Tokyo itinerary:

  • Distinctive Immersive Attractions: With over 20 unique attractions, including heart-pounding chases, intricate mysteries, and interactive storytelling, the park offers experiences you won’t find anywhere else.
  • All-Weather Fun: Being entirely indoors means the fun never stops, regardless of the weather outside. Perfect for rainy days or when you need a break from the sun.
  • Interactive Experience: Unlike traditional parks, Immersive Fort Tokyo places you in the center of the action. You’ll interact with live actors, solve puzzles, and influence the outcome of the story.
  • Rich Thematic Design: Each attraction is meticulously designed to transport you to different worlds, whether it’s the foggy streets of Victorian London, a high-stakes spy drama, or a fantastical fairytale.

Immersive Attractions at Immersive Fort Tokyo

There are three types of attractions available at Immersive Fort Tokyo: events, free attractions, and paid attractions.

Events

At Immersive Fort Tokyo, there is a main show that unfolds through a series of events held thoughout the day at different parts of the theme park. These events are completely free, but they are easy to miss if you don’t check the show schedule for the day. These events are also in Japanese, but are easy enough to understand or follow. Some events require you to sing along, some to act like prisoners, etc. The plot of the show periodically changes, so each visit holds a different surprise.

For me, this is the main selling point of Immersive Fort Tokyo as this is not, at least at the time of writing, available elsewhere in Japan. The characters of the show talk to you when they go around the theme park and are always in character, down to the way they walk or simply just stand. There are also hidden events. For example, we received an email the day before our scheduled visit that told us to wrap a yellow piece of cloth around our left wrists and this was an extra piece of puzzle that we got to enjoy solving during our visit.

Free Attractions

Most of the attractions at Immersive Fort Tokyo are included in the ticket price and have their own place in the park. These include:

Identity V Immersive Chase

Based on the mobile game of the same name, Identity V will require you to cooperate with your teammates to escape a hunter. A touch panel is given to each player, which also reveals their special skill: being able to see the map, stopping the hunter for 30 seconds, etc. You’ll have 3 minutes to repair 5 machines, avoid capture, and make it through the exit gate.

Jack the Ripper: Whitechapel Killer

This haunted house attraction is set in Victorian London. Your group will be given a piece of rope to hold on to, as you walk inside a dark passage filled with jump scares. A maximum of 8 people can go at a time, so if you have fewer people in your group, you’ll be paired with another. We thankfully had a very strong group of Taiwanese tourists with us, and a guy led the way with barely a flinch. It was our group who kept screaming at the people and contraptions popping out of nowhere.

Oshi no Ko Immersive Rally

The popular anime comes to life in this fun-for-all-ages attraction. You’ll have to solve puzzles that progressively become more difficult. Each puzzle you solve will teach you the choreography for the live performance that takes place in the park.

Immersive Stories: Hansel and Gretel

The classic fairy tale is told in a captivating animated film that unfolds as you walk through different areas. This attraction offers two distinct routes: the siblings’ journey or the witch’s story. It’s a relaxed attraction that’s best experienced at the beginning of your day at Immersive Fort Tokyo or in between adrenalin-pumping activities.

Paid Attractions

The following attractions require an additional fee on top of the ticket price. You can buy the tickets for these when you book online.

The Sherlock: Baker Street Murder Mystery

Join the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes in a gripping murder mystery set in the foggy streets of 19th-century London. As you navigate through detailed sets that replicate iconic locations such as Baker Street and various Victorian landmarks, you’ll gather clues and piece together the puzzle alongside Sherlock, Watson, and other familiar characters. This immersive theater experience allows you to interact with the story in real-time, making choices that affect the plot and the outcome of the mystery. Whether you’re following leads through dark alleyways or engaging in intense deductive reasoning, every moment is filled with suspense and excitement. The dynamic interactions and the freedom to choose your path ensure that each visit is unique, providing a truly unforgettable adventure for mystery enthusiasts and Sherlock Holmes fans alike.

Tokyo Revengers Immersive Escape

Prepare for an adrenaline-fueled adventure with the Tokyo Revengers Immersive Escape, a high-energy attraction inspired by the popular anime series. This group-based experience plunges you into the gritty world of Tokyo’s delinquent gangs, where you must navigate through intense battles and perilous scenarios. Working together with your team, you’ll engage in strategic problem-solving and physical challenges to escape from dangerous situations. The attraction’s detailed recreation of the anime’s world, combined with intricate puzzles and interactive elements, ensures a thrilling and immersive experience. Perfect for fans of the series and those who love a good challenge, the Tokyo Revengers Immersive Escape promises to be a rewarding and unforgettable part of your visit to Immersive Fort Tokyo.
