Review

The port town of Choshi is home to many good eats, and among them are Maka L’ea’s Hawaiian dishes. Just a few minutes’ walk from Choshi Station of the JR Line, the cafe instantly gives off a holiday feel with its Hawaiian-themed facade.

The cafe is just a cute as you step in, and the menu comes with both sweet and savory options. I ordered a loco moco for lunch, and after a long 3-hour ride from Tokyo, it was a welcome reward. At under a thousand yen, the serving size was filling, and the taste left no room for complaints.

The cafe also had a banner for masaladas which came in different flavors, and at the time I was there several people were ordering them for dine-in or take out. As I was too full to get one for myself, I didn’t get to try them.
Overall, the cafe adds to one of Choshi’s good choices for lunch. The atmosphere is relaxing, the food is good and doesn’t burn a hole in one’s pocket.
